Day 182 Jan. 15, 2011
What a busy few weeks for the jeep, I got the engine done, stripped out the paint and grease, installed newer front mounting plate, all new gaskets, new oil bracket, new oil fittings and lines, custom GM 1 wire Alt. mount, new plug wires, freeze plugs and spark plugs. I coated the engine with a 500 degree ceramic coating then went over the coating with the OD green. Need to clean and re-coat the carb. Did leak down and compression test everything checked out OK. The exhaust manifold bolts broke off in head, drilled and re tapped 3/8nc. Found matching studs at pep boys auto. I painted the oil filter, fan, alt, starter a low gloss black. The body, tail gate, passenger fender and seat frames all got sand blasted today by Bellevue Burl. Tom uses a beach #30 beach sand. He also told be that this is the best rust free jeep tub he has seen. We welded up the remaining holes that are not supposed to be there and did some light bondo work before we do a coat of etching primer tomorrow. Primer picture will be posted tomorrow.
